While some people don’t mind the cord, it’s often in the way, which doesn’t bode well for first-person shooter gamers (who need quick movements that are not hindered by extra lengths of wire). The best gaming mice will be wireless unless you’re playing an RTS game. Some of the settings will be higher but not too far away because you want to find the perfect balance between accuracy and speed for FPS games (or any game for that matter). The problem with normal mice is that they usually only have one or two settings that are not customizable. If you’re an FPS gamer, then look for a mouse with multiple DPI settings so you can toggle it to the exact setting you need.
